Training and Development
The Misbourne is committed to developing our staff to their full potential. We are proud users of the Steplab platform and use the drop-in function to inform our whole school CPD needs, and as a result, our CPD programme is always a response to the training needs of our school as a whole.
In addition to our whole-school CPD offer, we provide bespoke opportunities for those passionate about pedagogy to develop their practice, including T&L pilot groups, Literacy Champions and the opportunity to become an ECT mentor for those who have completed instructional coaching training.
Taking time to reflect, evaluate, and plan together is paramount; for this reason, we allocate periods for departments to complete intellectual preparation as a team when the timetable allows. In addition to this, all departments have regular team meetings during which they can address moderation, assessment and further subject-specific training needs. Lastly, we offer off-site training where appropriate and support our leaders with opportunities for further growth by encouraging them to complete NPQs through Ambition Institute.*
